RAMsterdam Drum & Bass 2013

RAMsterdam 2013 is a marvelous 15-track release from RAM Records, featuring d&b from many artists you are probably familiar with, and possibly some new names as well. Lots of different approaches and sounds to be found here, from more 'laid back' and liquid old-school type d&b to the newer, more in-your-face and more futuristic approach.

A few of the tracks became my favorites of course. Number one would be the embedded track, "Bluescreens" from Strike One. I don't really have to say much about it, put on a pair of headphones, crank up the volume and listen closely!
Really liked "Warrior" by Loadstar as well, with a classic break approach, I feel it being similar to "Shellshock" which is a good thing indeed.
If squares and hectic melodies are your thing, you'll probably also like "Let The Story Begin" by Sub Focus, I sure did.

So if you're looking for some great drum and bass, from artists you can trust to deliver (Noisia, Wilkinson, Loadstar, Calyx & TeeBee amongst others) but also try something new, I definitely recommend getting this album for the handful of dollars that it would cost you.

I Am Legion (Noisia & Foreign Beggars) - Album Released!

Finally it is here, the long awaited album by I Am Legion, the super-collab group featuring Noisia and Foreign Beggars. Maybe it became silly to name stuff "Noisia feat. Foreign Beggars" so many times that they decided to make a band? I don't know, it was a great move however.

The first single was really something, 'Make Those Move'. I wasn't too riled up by 'Choosing For You', but interesting to hear some new ground being broken. The full effect of I Am Legion is very heavy in any case, and there's plenty to go around with 16 tracks on this album. Sunken Submarines and Warp Speed Thuggin' are my favorites for now!

Get on Amazon, Beatport or listen on Spotify!

Also remember to check out the BASSPOLICE Spotify playlist!

I AM LEGION - Make Those Move [Noisia x Foreign Beggars]

Oh wow so, I don't know why I waited before listening to this. Noisia and Foreign Beggars taking their usual collab and takes it one step further by placing a name on it. Really like the moombah/hip-hop feel with some rock inspired riff-runs. Vocals are a bit strange in some sections according to me but such is life.
This bomb of a tune will be available 15th July, and entire album in September. I can't wait.

The Upbeats - Alone EP [Out April 15th]

A new, great, EP from The Upbeats. Interesting stuff, ranging from mellow to intense, mainly d&b but other noticeable influences as well! A nice opening tune featuring Tasha Baxter (who did a great job on Feed Me - Cloudburn) and also a rough-in-the-jungle tune feat. Noisia!

A free download is available for the Noisia collab song, here.

Nicely enough, the EP is currently there in its entirety, but will be released for sale on April 15th!

The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up (Noisia Remix)

After the last BP post, Noisia responded to my tweet, saying "funny you should post about the remix we did years ago 3 days after announced a new one". Funny indeed, I had no idea.
Listened to the airing of the remix yesterday on 1Xtra, it was mad.
Noisia posted the excerpt on their Soundcloud today, so enjoy!

It will be featured on The Prodigy's "Fat of the Land" deluxe album with a release date on the 3rd December, so make sure to get that, folks

The Prodigy - Omen (Noisia RMX)

No idea why I hadn't heard this great "Omen" remix by Noisia before. Breakbeats, omens, what have you!
I agreed with a youtube comment I saw, which read along the lines of, "Noisia should do more Prodigy remixes". I thought it was an eloquent statement.

Noisia - Imperial EP

Drum and bass all-stars Noisia are back, busting out some serious synths and beats in this new EP! Four intense songs, all of them DnB this time around. The songs are all there in full length, which is quite nice. Once you've figured out that buying this EP is probably a pretty good idea, you can do so by clicking here!

Still waiting for a sick Shellshock VIP though, you guys...

Noisia - Split the Atom - Special Edition

A bit more than a week ago, I posted the Posij remix of My World, mentioning it would be featured on the upcoming Special Edition release of Noisia's Split the Atom album. Well, that special edition album version has been released, and boy is it massive. Disc 2 contains a bucketload of tight remixes, from names I'm familiar with and some new faces as well.

Haven't really had time to listen closely enough to tell you any definitive current favorite amongst them, but must say so far that Kill the Noise's remix of Diplodocus is sounding pretty amazing, along with Neosignal's take on Stigma. But to be honest, them remixes are all sounding great so far.

I figured it would take up too much space, so here is the link to Disc 1

Also, show some of the best electronic producers out there some love, and buy this ishhh straight off Beatport.

My only question is, where is the amazingly awesome Shellshock remix that I was hoping for? :'(

Noisia - My World ft. Giovanca (Posij Remix)

A whooping remix of My World by Posij. I love this type of funky-ish electronic music. This is like,  drum & bass with the swingy
touch of KOAN Sound coupled together with something unique as well.
Great remix indeed. Keep a lookout for Split the Atom: Special  Edition to be forthcoming 27th of January on mau5trap.

I hope that special edition has some awesome remix of Shellshock because Shellshock is incredible.

UKF Dubstep 'n Drum & Bass 2011 Album Megamixes

Yeaaaup, it's that time again. Another one (2) of these bitchin' CDs jampacked with tunes that you want to make sweet love with. The DnB version features tunes like Shellshock, Crucify Me Pt. 1 and Someone (know you dig dat song Big C).

I mean, it's like £5 or something. That's not even an hours work for more than an hour of music. Or something like that, guess it depends if you farm oranges for 50 pence a day. No offense to any orange pickers. I don't eat oranges myself, but lots of people do and I bet they all send their regards.

You know that dubstep mega mix got some Noisia, 16bit, Roksonix and Trolley Snatcha up in it. And that's just like, 4 out of the lots that you'll be finding on that CD.

Check this link for the dubstep mix
And this one for the DnB one

It hurts my soul to post links to iTunes.

iTunes, I hope you drown. Sincerely,
/Lekroth - not surprised if it's illegal to say iTunes suck ass, tbh

Noisia - Could This Be

Noisia u always up in dem posts.
Well, listen to Noisia and realize why. The top comment on that video says it all. Beware of direct copy paste of youtube comment;

"1:00 - Me at one minute = :D
1:20 - Me at one minute and 20 seconds = :OOOOOOOOOOOO"

Youtube comments man, they just grow up that way. To the point, this song surprised the hell out of me after 1.00.

Noisia keeps delivering sick beat switches and never ending synth variation. Take a listen to Red Heat and you'll get the picture!
Could This Be is available for purchase the 21th november on mau5trap, so, you know, set a reminder.

Adios

Noisia - Tommy's Theme

Noisia - Tommy's Theme by NOISIA

Noisia never fail to surprise me. They've always got some new twist or tweak to their sound that just makes a song totally unique. The description on their soundcloud page that reads "Noisia make music for DJs and dance-floors that is interesting enough to cross over from the clubs to your MP3 player... " couldn't be more spot-on.

A slow, more dreadful sounding dubstep aura with this tune. After a long intro with funky vibes as lovley ride-bells in the background, comes some twisted sounding synths. Awesome stuff.

Love you Noisia.

Jonny L - Back To Your Roots (Quest Remix)

AH JEEZ! In ancient times, before man walked the earth, this damn song existed and flourished within the domains of Spotify. Now, for some reason, the song vanished a few months ago. Since I'm retarded I couldn't find it. But I managed now! I'll admit, it might not be the newest or the most exciting tune, buuut it's still one of those that really sticks. It's a good, but very long, and repetitive. It's wonderful for gaming, or anything that takes up most of your attention, great background music. I also think Noisia has a finger in the cake mix somewhere regarding this song, but idk rly.

Listen to how the vocals are on beat, the flow is pretty dope. 1-2-3-4 etc, although I must admit it sounds a bit bigger in the original 'cus there it's on the 4ths but in the Quest remix it's on the 8ths (this might be complete bullshit but I think it might be correct). A good song, by itself or when you're busy doing something, just shows that DnB can be very versatile yet follow a straight line and be repetitive (In a good way, not like all-radio-music kind of repetitive, suck a dick radio music).

Evol Intent - Cruise Control EP released!

CRUISE CONTROL EP TEASER by Evol Intent

Awyeee! I'm a huge Evol Intent fan ever since I first heard that short snippet of Paradize City in Excisions Shambhala mix. Their new EP sounds great, listening to the teaser and the Beatport previews, gonna have to cough up some dollars (€uros lol) and buy this thing!

The hollow sound on Scavenger is great, gives it a Noisia/Jungle-ish feeling. Oh, Cruise Control, the drop on that tune, well, you know what they say? CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR AWESOME!

Lovin' this, real great DnB for sure, get it here.

Stay tuned for some pretty heavy swag stuff tomorrow btw, 'sgonna be a good day!

Noisia drops it again!

Felt a little inspired by my friends post, so I decided to follow in the tracks of Noisia!

These Dutch mad-men, dropped another EP a couple of days ago, called "Vision Recordings 011".
First up on the EP, is a collab with Phace, called "Program". This beast starts of with a break / neurofunk kind of feel, jam-packed with tons of interesting FX and sounds that never leaves you bored. And then.. DROOOOP!
 Check it out for yourselves!

Nr.2 goes for a bit more classic DnB feel, but with that little Noisia twist, that always leaves you wanting more! Lovin the "wild west" style guitar that comes in a couple of times. This tune goes by the name "Regurgitate". Enjoy!

This EP was released on the 6th of June and you can pick ut up at Beatport or Juno Download! The vinyl will be out on the 27th!
