Figure - The Brink & Oblivion - Dead in Space EP

Figure released this like almost a month ago, so I wouldn't say I'm up to speed on this post. It is a great song though and to hell with staying up to date. Excellent drums as per usual, but what intrigued me the most was the cool trance synth thing. Next time there's a Need For Speed game getting made, this should be in it.
Also, this is a free download, so why don't you go ahead and freely download it from here.

An EP has been released by this here Oblivion, on DOOM Music, and it is cool stuff! In particular, I liked this song with some of the funky vibes. I have no good explanation for why I could pick this out, but I'm pretty sure there's a Naruto sample or two in that song. Uuuh, anyway, you can get this EP via this link

I also think you should click here and check out DOOM Music, those folks are A-Okay in my book!

Figure - The Ball Drop

Figure - The Ball Drop (Original Mix) - Free DL by Figure

I'm never shy when it comes to posting great Figure tunes. And you know, there aren't really that many Figure tunes that aren't great. I caught myself expelling a loud "haaa" when I heard the melody. 'Tis the season to be pumping the bass, as dubstep santa would say.

As Figure seems to be a generous fella, this song is a free download as well, so get yo' christmas/new year/crunk on with this tune while shootin' some fireworks.

This thing doesn't really look good on this page but I don't have time to play the master of HTML all day so you'll just have to deal with it people.

Figure - Monsters of Drumstep Vol. 2

You know, it's not every day that I log into the BP mail and find a promo email featuring Figure's new album, ill.Gate's new album and a 27-track mix from The Glitch Mob. And when I say it's not every day, I mean it's never happened before. Huge thanks to Dayshabass for this!

Figure & Gangsta Fun - The Mummy (VIP Edit) by Figure

I've been a fan of Figure since 15 seconds into the first song I heard by him. This album features some awesome songs, and you better believe they all pack a punch. VIP edits, remixes and completely new tunes, if you wanted more from an album it would have to pay for dinner.

So far I've had enough time to take the album for one complete digital spin, and so far my favorite is The Mummy VIP Edit. The melody has that smooth LA g-funk swing to it, crazy beat too. Another favorite is the Killabits rmx of The Werewolf, fucking ace track. This is the one album to make you stop in your tracks, look over your shoulder and make sure you don't have a pack of monsters ready to disembowel you.

You can get it from Figure's own website (and a free dl, This Is Halloween)
And you can also get it from Beatport, Amazon, Juno & iTunes (Ew, iTunes)
Trust me, it's worth every penny.
Also stay tuned for his upcoming Halloween mix for Mad Decent!

Will take the other promo stuff for a ride now, expect more tomorrowwww

Oasis - Wonderwall (Figure Drumstep Edit)

Wonderwall (Figure Drumstep Edit) - Free DL by Figure

I'm not going to lie and say I love Oasis, but I can't say I dislike Oasis either. I've never listened to Oasis, so there's that. Well except for Wonderwall then, 'cus who hasn't heard Wonderwall? And I've got to admit it's one of those tracks, right? What I, and probably you as well, know already, is that everything that Figure fiddles with usually turns out pretty damn sassy. Throw some stutter vocals on those Gallagher fellows, add a slice of Figure signature drumstep beats and fill all the other gaps with bass. What do you get? Sweet, sweet harmony.

Free DL here from Figure's own website. There's lots of cool stuff on there besides this song so, check that out.

Also, everything sounds like angels in my new Beyerdynamic DT250 headphones awwwyeeee

Figure & Tommy Lee - Pounds of Blood

Tommy Lee and Figure - Pounds of Blood (Original Mix) by Figure

Yayuh, new release from bass-horror master Figure, in collaboration with none other than Tommy Lee! This track features live drums, something I don't think I've heard before in this type of music, except for Jojo Mayer and that time when Nero played with those philharmonic fellas. Probably the drums have been mixed at some parts and such, but there's just some sounds you can't get virtually. Great synth build-up, think it's some Phantom at the Opera action? My knowledge within classical music is very slim at best.

It's very cool to hear when the real drum sounds kick in at intervals, dividing the song up between Tommy Lee and Figure pretty much.
Figure as always got them crazy drumstep chorus-synths down as well, keeping his sound while keepin' it fresh (note the little ' thing, gotta have swag on the fresh!).

Figure, double time.

Waddup, I know you like Figure, and so do I. So naturally, here's some figure.

Release 11 days ago? Damn I'm late. I ain't even mad tho 'cuz this is good stuff. The intro to this tune is really giving me a Porter Robinson feeling, haven't heard the original so can't tell if it goes on behalf of Figure or the original creators, or if it's even intended in the first place. We will never know... dun dun. After dropping it swings the house swing, but since it's a Figure song, things are happening all the time and all of the sudden it's drumstep for a little while. I think.
Buy Figure's remix, and others, here !

Another Figure Old-School-Hip-Hop-Bootleg? Yeeeee good times. The sample doesn't give it full credit though, but it sure shows a fair bit of what you can expect! This tune is a free download, which is never frowned upon. You can get it from Figure's brand new website, along with other freebies, here!

Big ups!

Figure & Kanji Kinetic - Frankenstein (Free Release) | Figure & Cas One - Doomsday (Ode to the Butchers and Thieves)

Figure and Kanji Kinetic - Frankenstein (Original Mix) FREE DL by Figure

YE WADDUP! Figure & Kanji Kinetic unleashed their collab tune for FREE today! (of course you can still buy it and support the producers) The vox synth is cool as balls, and the intro has a classic feel but still got that uptempo swing, fresh. Love the swagger yuy-yuy-yuyu-yuyu part, if anyone gets what I'm trying to imitate. All in all though, Figure as well as Kanji has very unique sounds, whether it be drumstep, dnb or whatever, it's pretty much always kick-ass!

Figure and Cas One- Doomsday (Ode to the Butchers and Thieves) by Figure

Just noticed this was out too (thanks for that, Samples). Had to update the post and squeeze it in there. Ballin rap and Figures drumstep blend together so very well into such a hard song. The beat to the verses is great, I think it has that old school swag to it, especially coupled with some echo/reverb on the lyrics. When we get to the drop, well, what can I say, it's Figure alright. Great song, which is available to download as well, I'd advice y'all to get it!

Quick lil' news post

Awesome artwork made by a friend of ours, thanks! Currently using this on twitter 'cuz the blogspot design editor is a major hater.

Just figured I'd write some news / things / whatever the fuck
First off, gotta give a big shoutout and thanks to Samples, Figure, NumberNin6, Bare and others for tweeting our posts! Really gave our site a lot of traffic and we love musicians that have time for the small people as well. To quote Bear Grylls; Help the fire when it's small, and it'll help you when it gets big!

Second, I realized that I completely forgot the Sunday Wrap-Up for last week. But seriously though the posts we posted on sunday instead were dope as fuck so it kinda balances it out.

Lastly, thanks to the new followers on twitter for the support, and the people who have sent us tunes/mixes for featuring! Today/tomorrow (fucking time zones) it's very likely that we'll be posting two of the submissions/requests that sounded real ill!

BASSPOLICE takin' off, get on dat boat, crew!
