ill.Gates & The Aussie Bush Posse - Under Mi Wildflower

Ill Gates - Under Mi Wildflower - Free DL by ill.gates

Long time no glitch hop! Free DL from ill.Gates and his mates the Aussie Bush Posse this time. The story behind the song is really cool actually, apparently they made the entire song outside with the gear in a tent, and the rain in the intro was actually sampled then and there, which is awesome. I guess you could call that environmentally aware music-production or something?

Some neat samples and lyrics, sexy female vocals 'n all. A fat bass drum, lovin' the heavy beat.
Like I said, it's a free download, and you can get it here, along with some other stuff as well!

Great to see that originality and creativity lives on within music in other senses than just creating new heavy drops.

Not implying I don't love heavy drops though, what did you think rofl.

Nero - Promises (Skrillex RMX)

Am I retarded for not knowing this was out? I think saying that would be an insult to retarded people. Also, while I'm already being offensive towards minorities, is it gay to think that the intro is beautiful? If so, count me in the gay club 'cus it totally is. Both the original and this remix is great, but this one just has the Skrillex swag to it you know! Always a bit more action on the drums when he's doing stuff, just like in Tomba's tunes. I'm totally a fan of big reverb snares and catchy high-pitched female vocals, so this song was a given feature.

You can pre-order the entire Promises EP by Nero here, featuring the original, Skrillex remix, Calvin Harris remix and another Nero track named New Life! The entire thing drops 7/8/2011!

Seriously, no offense to anyone with that first paragraph.

Gemini - Elevate

New tune up on UKF Dubstep today by Gemini! I've listened in to a bunch of Gemini songs, mostly he's done remixes but it's all been quite original. If you listen to them I'm sure you'll recognize a few from mixes and such! Elevate is another one of these unique-sounding tracks, with pretty much a "complete" wobble so to speak, with the raise, silence, raise. Think it's proper cool! Another thing you've gotta have in a good dubstep song is dope drums. 'Cus we all know dubstep beats just go boom..... paah.... boom..... boom-pah most of the time, so you've gotta make that kick`n´snare sounding juicy and fresh.

Great tune, Gemini seems to be on his way to big things! Available only on the UKF Bass Culture CD, which you can buy here (ha, no, fuck you iTunes I ain't linking your page unless I have too, cunts).
/Lekroth, sorry for no post yesterday, I was tired!

Crystal Clear & Stapleton - Levels (FuntCase Remix)

Yeah! New Funtcase remix of Crystal Clear & Stapleton - Levels. First time for featuring Funtcase on BASSPOLICE, but better late than never! The HADOUKEN made me happy, go Street Fighter, go! Them lyrics are quite funny if you listen in as well, and got that kinda lazy feel going.

Great tune, get it, the original, and more @ this place!

Jonny L - Back To Your Roots (Quest Remix)

AH JEEZ! In ancient times, before man walked the earth, this damn song existed and flourished within the domains of Spotify. Now, for some reason, the song vanished a few months ago. Since I'm retarded I couldn't find it. But I managed now! I'll admit, it might not be the newest or the most exciting tune, buuut it's still one of those that really sticks. It's a good, but very long, and repetitive. It's wonderful for gaming, or anything that takes up most of your attention, great background music. I also think Noisia has a finger in the cake mix somewhere regarding this song, but idk rly.

Listen to how the vocals are on beat, the flow is pretty dope. 1-2-3-4 etc, although I must admit it sounds a bit bigger in the original 'cus there it's on the 4ths but in the Quest remix it's on the 8ths (this might be complete bullshit but I think it might be correct). A good song, by itself or when you're busy doing something, just shows that DnB can be very versatile yet follow a straight line and be repetitive (In a good way, not like all-radio-music kind of repetitive, suck a dick radio music).

WTF & Dead Prez - It's Bigger than Hip-Hop (Sidney Samson RMX)

I really don't think Sidney Samson needs an introduction. Even my grandmother has probably heard Riverside. Though saying that Riverside is Sidney Samson's only feat would be one of the most sincerely handicapped statements. He's been involved in the electronic music scen forever and made more bangers than I can count. His most prominent genre is house, but there seems to be a bunch of other influences in his music!
The "original" dubstep version of this song was something I first heard in the '010 Shambhala mix by Excision, and mostly it was just a short nugget at the end, but a good one. I had to reason for a while before deciding which song to feature, but I realized just now that I could put 200 songs about penguins in this post if I damn well wanted to. So I'm going to add the dubstep version as well.  Fuck the police.

BASSPOLICE extends it's concern towards Norway and the people caught up in the events there, and so should you!

Jesus fuck. I just had to... get that out there. This is sick! Captain Crunch's scratching skills is beyond belieeef. There'll be no long review, I can't help you any further than this - you'll have to listen to this mix, it's crazy!

Jimmy Maverick - Let 'Em Burn EP (Preview)

Howdy-hoooo(es)! Thanks to twitter, my search for music today was fairly quick! After reviewing all the new UKF DnB & Dubstep songs, listening to a bunch of random soundcloud tunes and stuff, I got lucky, you could say! Saw a promotion by DJ Shortee for Heavy Artillery Records (which I believe is partly hers anyway) and everything was in order.

This Jimmy Maverick guy, apparently Ukrainian (waddup White-Ra), released a new EP. It's got some pretty heavy metal influences, and I find that dope as fuck 'cus metal is like the hardest thing on earth.

The first track, "Let 'Em Burn" seems filled with the kind of Excision & Downlink type of dubstep, not all-out metal but you can definitely feel the vibes on the drums and synths, good stuff indeed.
Second track, obviously metal influenced, since it's a remix of the dude's band, named "Jim Jams" (gonna make a band and name it after myself too, pro move). It has that "dubcore" type of swing which seems to be on the rise now. Not keen on "core"-type vocals in general but this tune does it well, so I'm not going to complain! A big fan of the distorted guitar sounds, the wobbly-wobbles are good too, oh and the big snare is genuinely huge.

Proper stuff, Heavy Artillery releases quite a lot of awesome drumstep, dubstep and the likes, so check them out!

Happy friday friday gotta get down on friday everybody.

Waddup Hip-Hop Time!

As an introduction, I don't want to claim that I "know" hip-hop or something in particular. To be fair, the only hip-hop I listened to as a kid was Eminem and D12, which isn't particularly "real", and proper hip-hop is something kinda new to me. If someone feels like going all wild-out "you ain't ghetto bro this shit ain't even real", well, blow me. This isn't exactly standard procedure but, good music is hard to come by and frankly, sometimes spicing it up is dope for everyone!

Ok, Jedi Mind Tricks should be a familiar name to most, yeah? Now, I'm not 100% clear on the story behind all this, what I do know is that Vinnie Paz is pretty much the frontman for both AotP and JMT. Afaik, JMT consists of Paz, Stoupe(?) and Jus Allah(??). Though I've read that JMT is, or was, a duo, so I'm still confused! Anyway, AotP is pretty much an army as stated, 'cus they're like 10+ people or something. Ripped to Shreds is my favorite song of theirs, Celph Titled's verse is killer hard. I think Demoz does verse numero dos, which is fast as a motherfucker and has sick flow. Love Vinnie's verse as well and the chorus is catchy like crabs.
Awesome hip-hop song imo, fuck bitches.

If you cared to read the wall of text above, you saw that Celph Titled is in AotP, and I'm a big fan of his style. In 2010 he released an album, with beats made by Buckwild. Buckwild has done a lot of beats for famous and non-famous rappers, and what I like about his beats is that they feel like the old-school hip-hop and have a lot of diversity ranging from jazz to all kinds of crazy stuff. With the swag & "hards snares and not lame snaps", to quote Celph Titled. The humorous type of lyrics is great, this tune comes packed with a whole lotta hilarious one-liners.
Would like to see a new Celph album asap please!

I featured this song for three reasons, it's a great song, love the chorus and the beat with the guitar work. Second, because R.A kinda tells his story, at least the part about not being famous and such. Third, everyone loves a video don't they? (Plus it's a hilarious video, "I'LL KILL THIS FUCKIN' SNAKE"). Really though, I've had friends complaining about the way "Every Record Label Sucks Dick" sounds, for example. But the fact is, to understand and like hip-hop, you've gotta listen properly to the lyrics, and try to relate.
R.A is also releasing an album together with Buckwild, hopefully in 2011!

You can probably see the pattern here, since R.A has done a great song together with Paz called Uncommon Valor, and all of the mentioned artists are pretty much intertwined with each other in one way or another.
This post is getting quite long, so you'll have to do as mentioned, and understand the damn lyrics for yourself. I can't do everything for you.

Seriously I can't.

Figure, double time.

Waddup, I know you like Figure, and so do I. So naturally, here's some figure.

Release 11 days ago? Damn I'm late. I ain't even mad tho 'cuz this is good stuff. The intro to this tune is really giving me a Porter Robinson feeling, haven't heard the original so can't tell if it goes on behalf of Figure or the original creators, or if it's even intended in the first place. We will never know... dun dun. After dropping it swings the house swing, but since it's a Figure song, things are happening all the time and all of the sudden it's drumstep for a little while. I think.
Buy Figure's remix, and others, here !

Another Figure Old-School-Hip-Hop-Bootleg? Yeeeee good times. The sample doesn't give it full credit though, but it sure shows a fair bit of what you can expect! This tune is a free download, which is never frowned upon. You can get it from Figure's brand new website, along with other freebies, here!

Calvin Harris - Feel So Close x2 Remixes

Gotta admit, seen the @DILLONFRANCIS tag on twitter quite a lot, but I'ma lazy twitterer(?) so took some time before I actually checked it out. Found this remix on what I'm guessing is his blog. I really liked this remix, it's very crisp and the lead is pretty unique. Though I'm wondering, is this what they call "moombathon"? Even with all the fuss, I haven't taken the time to check up on any moombah ting type music, so I have no idea.

Anyway, keep your eyes peeled for this guy, good stuff indeed!

Yessirrr, there was a Nero remix too! Feels a little more up-tempo in the intro, and kicks it with signature Nero dubstep after the obligatory 0:55 mark. Real good actually! Which ever of the remix is the best you'll have to decide for yourselves!

The whole package drops the 22th of August, and you can pre-order it here

Feed Me - Pink Lady

So uh, sometimes I'm pretty stupid, maybe even more often than not, one could argue. One of those times was when I heard "Feed Me To The Stars". Simply put, I didn't listen properly, which was indeed a grave mistake. Decided to take a full listen today, and it's awesome. Guess it needed some time for the seed to grow!

Will say that Pink Lady is my favourite for now, with the smooth electro feel to the lead. Feed Me's synth work is simply amazing, I think he might be Beethoven incarnate (not sure if Beethoven actually played piano or not, but I'ma take a bet and say he did). Anyways, feels like electro house is the shit right now, and Feed Me constantly shows us why!

You can get the full EP here (which I just did, brb Traktor Pro 2.0)

Fytch & Captain Crunch 'Raindrops' ft Carmen Forbes (Tomba Remix)

I've already posted this, I know, but you might remember that douche who cock-blocked the entire song with his talking? This preview has no talking, whoop! My original review still stands, this is incredible. If the song had a 'buy' button (or if I had any money) I'd be buying it instantly!

There's a few more versions of Raindrops along with the original @ Buygore's Soundcloud so go check that out! Don't feel like writing anymore 'cus I've never been this hungover in my life.

We'd be thrilled as well if you Liked our Facebook page, Followed us on Twitter or Subscribed to our Spotify playlist even! Spread the word, or whatever the fuck. I'll leave you with a juicy Trolley Snatcha remix to enjoy in the meanwhile!

BASSPOLICE < 3's Terravita

Since Up In the Club crossed my ears for the first time, my life hasn't been the same. Ever since, staying updated on Terravita releases has been high up on my priority list of "music things to do". So, of course, when Terravita yesterday announced the release of a few previews, I was all over that.

This, Gangsta Don't Dance track, is another display of Terravita drumstep ingenious. Terravita keeps it fairly clean and simple, compared to lets say, Figure, but still maintain a firm hold on the "banger" status. The high-pitched synth is great, and the short, more 'mechanical electric guitar transformers' break that sometimes appear is a neat little twist.

Terravita - Are You Ready For Me - clip by TERRAVITA

This tune has a bit of Borgore-esque intro rap, with bitches, money, haters etc. Something I haven't heard before in a Terravita track, and to be fair I enjoy the occasional hip-hop so, haters gonna hate. But! What makes this song great is the drop. It's on par with Terravita songs like Project Mayhem and The Beat Goes On, which means it's dopin' dope. Creds to the very swag beat as well and the Saw synth which is, in my eyes, the Terravita land mark.

Can't wait to hear the full releases of these songs and all the other previews, keep rockin' them beats Terravita!

In The Mix: Nostalgia + Interview!

BASSPOLICE is proud to announce it's first interview!
We got a chance to ask some (pretty retarded) questions to Nostalgia, to promote his new 3k mix! He released this when he reached 3,000 likes on facebook, a well earned feat. The interview takes up a lot of post space so let me just say that we love this mix and look forward to future tunes from Nostalgia!
(Tracklist now in comments section)

Nostalgia - 3K Fans Mix (FREE 320 + DESKTOP BACKGROUND) by Nostalgia

B - First off, we'll start with the obligatory, weak question, what got
you into electronic music production?

N - Sub woofers.  Well, Limewire.  Like 6 years ago I went to a “Black
Friday” sale at Best Buy with my bro and dad to pick up 2x 12” subs
and an amp.  The night before that I had downloaded any song with the
word “Bass” in it so I could test ‘em out when they were installed.
So we got there at 4am, got in at 5 or 6 (I don’t remember) and my EDM
music career started at 7am with “Drumsound and Simon Bassline Smith -
Jungleist (Twisted Individual remix).”  First drum and bass song I had
ever heard, still my favorite.

B - You've made a pretty dope mix here, with a whole lotta tracks we
haven't heard and great classics alike. What, if any, inspiration did
you use for this mix?

N - The mix is kind of reactionary to close-minded dubstep fans.  I’m
not angry at anyone, but I treat my mixes often as “what can I get
away with in a dubstep set” lol.  I am IN LOVE with the 100-110 stuff
that’s in there, that’s not moombaton.  It doesn’t have a name I guess
but its so funky and still heavy, gets me movin’ like nothin’ else.

B - I'll let the likes of Borgore influence a question here. What would
you do if you was like, filthy rich?

N - Ha, I think we’ve all seen the Buygore interviews... Um, trick out
my 98’ Saturn SC2 (Pearl).  Buy a Burberry jacket for my girlfriend.
And get a house so I don’t have to make tunes on headphones most of
the time :/ Oh, and get Jonathan Gering some more V’s.

B - As a follow-up, which live show has been your wildest one to date?

N - Well, at the show I just played in DC there was a patio with 2
foam guns haha.  But I think the craziest show so far was in St. Louis
booked with the Wolf Pack.  I had a great opener, DJ Belly, who
brought the vibes up perfectly for my set.  Then I played, and I’ve
never jumped around so much haha, had to take a min or two breather
against the wall after my set.  And Antiserum went on after me so that
night rocked :]

B - What current projects are you working on? And, you got anything
lined up with any other artists at the moment?

N - Lots of tunes to finish (about 7).  One of them is a collab with
Halo Nova called “Code Name Polar Bear” haha, big tune.  I’m also
working on some stuff for school since I goto school for production.

B - For the enthusiasts (me included), what gear/DAW's do you enforce
while creating bangers?

N - FL Studio 10 DONT HATE! haha, but yea, I know all the tricks with
FL so it works really well.  I got KRK Rokit 8’s for monitors, Ion
Desk Rocker lil monitors for a different speaker environment, a Rain
recording desktop computer (its big), Akai MPK 25 keyboard, Native
Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 interface. NI Massive, Sytrus, Zeta +,
smamples n such.

B - I know The Hero has gotten a lot of recognition (featured in one of
our posts as well!) and for good reasons. Of your own songs, which
would you feel is the one you prefer the most?

N - Prefer the most eh? Probably the most recent creation, I get sick
of songs quick because I play ‘em so much.  Though, I always enjoy
listning to “Stop Killing Them” (google that shiz).

B - Out of every musician in the game right now, which one('s) would
you want to tour with the most?

N - Vaski and/or Dirty Talk ‘cause I know um so I know it’d be fun.
All my DJ idols are from my DnB days so I can’t think of anyone else.

B - If you had to bring three goats with you into space, what would
you name them?

N - I feel like this assumes I’m already going into space (RE:
Betamorph recordings) but Terry, Phil, and Tuesday.  A goat named
Tuesday could bring about so many hilarious situations.

B - If you're still here, and haven't left the keyboard to spite our
stupid questions, got any thing to say to the fans before you go?

N - Appreciate the most music you can.  There’s good music in every
genre and “bad” tunes may just need a better setting.  Shouts to
Jonathan Gering, Dirty Talk, Vaski, Oblivion, Bass Violator, Xpresive,
Devnik, Sub Antix, Cottonmouth, Total Recal, Widelows, Pete Flex, Stu,
Arron O., TC Dubstep, the Twin Cities scene, my mom, JC, and everyone
I forgot.
Thnx and support your local Nostalgia :]

And big thanks to you for taking some time to answer our questions!

Evol Intent - Cruise Control EP released!

CRUISE CONTROL EP TEASER by Evol Intent

Awyeee! I'm a huge Evol Intent fan ever since I first heard that short snippet of Paradize City in Excisions Shambhala mix. Their new EP sounds great, listening to the teaser and the Beatport previews, gonna have to cough up some dollars (€uros lol) and buy this thing!

The hollow sound on Scavenger is great, gives it a Noisia/Jungle-ish feeling. Oh, Cruise Control, the drop on that tune, well, you know what they say? CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR AWESOME!

Lovin' this, real great DnB for sure, get it here.

Stay tuned for some pretty heavy swag stuff tomorrow btw, 'sgonna be a good day!

Meaux Green feat. Whiskey Pete - On The Dancefloor (Dj Exodus & Leewise VS ReepR Remix)

Was klicking around a bit, on Soundcloud ,the other day and ended up at Funkk Sound Recordings. I concider myself a lucky man, finding this label and some amazing artists!

The tune that interested me the most, has one of the longest track names I have laid my eyes upon, but DAYUM what a banger!

This is a preview version of the full track, but wow this shows some potential. The way that it drops is so smooth that you can hardly see it coming and it doesn't stop being amazing there! Couldn't stand, not knowing what else this tune had to offer, so I downloaded it at Beatport immediately! Totally using this in my DJ set!

Check it out fellow Bass lovers!

Zeds Dead - BBC Radio 1 Mini Mix

Okay, so don't quote me on this or anything, but I think these fellas are from Canada. And! If they're from Canada, my theorem, about Canada being one of the most mature and progressing countries in the world, continues to spire!
So, like the title says, Zeds Dead's Mini Mix for BBC Radio 1, featuring, at the time at least, only unreleased songs.
I'm quite a fan of ZD's electronic productions, they're very unique, and most of their songs brings something new and originalé to the table.
How it shifts from hard, heavy to slow, funky, or groovy, swinging to swagballin'.
Wish this mix was another 50 minutes long, to the least!

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400 (Raspian Dubstep Remix)

Yo! Here's some quick tunage for the evening. Not to diminish the awesomeness of this song though, or anything. You've heard the original Zombie Nation right? I mean, if you haven't... well... why are you the only person still living in the 1870's? Assuming you have heard the original, you're already down with the fact that it's classic. I think this remix gives the original justice, but in dubstep fashion. Drop numero dos is great, the snare build-up is awesome and gives me some Major Lazer vibes. Then comes the drumstep (is it drumstep? lets call it drumstep) and it's massive!

It's quite an old tune, but I'm still digging it big time, way to go Raspian.

EDIT:
RUPTURE [PREVIEW] by Raspian

Oh and he also uploaded this preview, like 30 minutes ago. It was quite nice actually, think the full tune will be a big one!

Now, I pride myself as being an honest person of principles, and well, the original is better. Quite frankly, you could say it's... LEAVIN ME IN PIECES LEAVIN ME IN PIECES

Rob Sparx - Walk On

MOTIONGRAFF Episode 17 : WALK ON from MOTIONGRAFF on Vimeo.

We've mentioned Profound Audio before, and today they sent us some more promo stuff! I really thought this video was cool, I've seen some things by Motiongraff before and it's been pretty dope. Me and my brother in arms agreed that the song felt a bit more like old school dubstep, a bit chilled and relaxed feeling to it, which can be quite nice as a break from all the hardcore stuff.

Here's a link to the page where you can buy both the original and the remix. Big thanks to PA, the video was dope and we're always happy when people send us promo stuff!

Figure & Kanji Kinetic - Frankenstein (Free Release) | Figure & Cas One - Doomsday (Ode to the Butchers and Thieves)

Figure and Kanji Kinetic - Frankenstein (Original Mix) FREE DL by Figure

YE WADDUP! Figure & Kanji Kinetic unleashed their collab tune for FREE today! (of course you can still buy it and support the producers) The vox synth is cool as balls, and the intro has a classic feel but still got that uptempo swing, fresh. Love the swagger yuy-yuy-yuyu-yuyu part, if anyone gets what I'm trying to imitate. All in all though, Figure as well as Kanji has very unique sounds, whether it be drumstep, dnb or whatever, it's pretty much always kick-ass!

Figure and Cas One- Doomsday (Ode to the Butchers and Thieves) by Figure

Just noticed this was out too (thanks for that, Samples). Had to update the post and squeeze it in there. Ballin rap and Figures drumstep blend together so very well into such a hard song. The beat to the verses is great, I think it has that old school swag to it, especially coupled with some echo/reverb on the lyrics. When we get to the drop, well, what can I say, it's Figure alright. Great song, which is available to download as well, I'd advice y'all to get it!

Skrillex - Reptile Theme (MK '11)

You know, someone said to me after the Tomba post, "don't you like Skrillex?". Of course I like Skrillex, kids! Who doesn't? To be honest though, the first time I heard this track I thought it was kinda decent and perhaps not top 5 in the "Skrillex - Hall of Awesomeness". But it grew on me quick, and now I think it awesome as fuck. Got some nifty classic MK samples in there, along with the Skrillex-esque sound and a more "clubby" feeling. The beat's hard as brick, great shallow snare and deep bass on the kick.

As an MK fan, I love this track, shoulda been in the game!

Porter Robinson Triple Ultra K.O Combo Fatality Post!

So, Porter Robinson, 19 years old, and a kick-ass producer. He makes tunes that's got the banging house-beat-feel and the electro swing with a touch of the dubstep down-low heavy schtuff. This first one's brand new, a remix of a Lady Gaga tune, and was released 30th of June (I think). The vocals are dope, never heard the original so can't really compare but Lady Gaga should start laying down vox for dubstep and dnb all day.

Second drop adds multiple layers to the first one, digging the use of the silence and snare echoes, makes for a good effect and adds dimension!

Awh yeee! 'Tis the #1 song I heard from Porter Robinson, discovered it while pumpin' dödselectro's spotify playlist (oh and of course you want to subscribe to our playlist right? ;D) and was like "well kay this' alrite I gue-WWNGHHNNDJASd", proceeding with pumping the tune 10 times in a row and flailing wildly (that's just how I roll bitches).

The main point that's really great about Porter Robinson is how the drops are pretty unexpected, you think you're gonna get something along the lines of the regular club music/that crappy radio house or whatever you call it, but it's something else. This one keeps the theme of having a 2x as good second drop, probs my fave Porter Robinson tune. Fuckin'ell.

While we're on the subject of second drops, oh balls this one fits the bill alrighty. The first drop is kinda good but hell, it's got nothing on no. 2! Love how it's a melody built around different synths, and the smooth vibrato clean one just before the drop is beautiful like Pizza Hut filled with naked ladies.

Sorry there hasn't been any posts for a lil' while! Have been on holiday, and before that I was either working or sleeping. 'Cus you know what they say, get money get paid!
