Finally it is here, the long awaited album by I Am Legion, the super-collab group featuring Noisia and Foreign Beggars. Maybe it became silly to name stuff "Noisia feat. Foreign Beggars" so many times that they decided to make a band? I don't know, it was a great move however.
The first single was really something, 'Make Those Move'. I wasn't too riled up by 'Choosing For You', but interesting to hear some new ground being broken. The full effect of I Am Legion is very heavy in any case, and there's plenty to go around with 16 tracks on this album. Sunken Submarines and Warp Speed Thuggin' are my favorites for now! Get on Amazon, Beatport or listen on Spotify!
I find it fitting for this to be the 200th BASSPOLICE in some ways.No copyright infringement intended. All cred goes to the respective authors and labels, as they should!
Well shit, an entire album preview? It is a nice thing when artists do these kind of things. I'm a fan of Dirtyphonics, they bring out interesting stuff on the regular in many different genres but still maintaining a signature sound. This release contains some stuff you might've heard and liked already, such as DIRTY and Walk in the Fire. The collab tunes with Aoki and Modestep weren't my cup of tea really, but the Modestep vocals were great as always. The one feat. Foreign Beggars was a notch above, slightly unique if nothing else. Oh wow so, I don't know why I waited before listening to this. Noisia and Foreign Beggars taking their usual collab and takes it one step further by placing a name on it. Really like the moombah/hip-hop feel with some rock inspired riff-runs. Vocals are a bit strange in some sections according to me but such is life. This bomb of a tune will be available 15th July, and entire album in September. I can't wait.

When I saw Feed Me last year, he played this tune, and it stuck with me. I could not identify it however, and not until I heard it in this new mix from Kennedy Jones, did I hear it again. Thankfully, the tracklist was present! An old tune by now, but fresh to me. Blast this on your summer adventures!

Major Lazer's new album. I like this album, there are loads of songs, different artists featured on every one of them. Loads of chefs for many soups, with the Major Lazer production-quality-experience. No remixes, which to me is a good move.
I really liked the track Get Free. To be honest, the tracks that stuck with me the most were the calmer ones. However, Watch Out For This and Jah No Partial are some really uptempo joints that I quite liked as well. Will be listening to this many times! Y'all know what time it is. Free Download! I have to use old Soundcloud these days just because on the new SC you can't copy DL links, and you can't see Facebook likes either. If someone wants to prove me wrong, be my guest! I'd like to know if those things are doable/see-able.

I don't know why I have not posted this here yet. It started auto-playing and it reminded me that I should've done it a long time ago since it's a great remix. Consider it a bonus or something.
A boner-bonus.
thank you everybody for coming to the comedy show you have all been amazing No copyright infringement intended. All cred goes to the respective authors and labels, as they should!
Here's a free one from Valentino Khan. Lately he's been dropping a trap tune every Thursday, to commemorate what I assume is his own creation, "Trap Thursdays". Yes, yes, I know, it's Friday today, but whatever. The theme of this song fits a Friday better anyway. Get out there and get at dat dere dip. I received an email from the great people over at FiXT Publicity (FIGURE, Celldweller & more). It was a promotional request for this album, by Savant. Now, I had heard the name Savant before, but never actually listened to any of the music associated with the name. The 3rd song on the album, Sledgehammer, was the first song I heard, and that song coupled with the interesting bio, made me decide upon a review. However, I do realize that this is some next level stuff, and I might not be qualified to judge the quality of music overall, but hell, sue me, y'all. Not sure where to begin with this. Many times, an album/EP features one dubstep track, one moombah track, etc. But with 22 tracks, and most of them intertwining genres to create something that I have no label for, Alchemist is definitely one of the most diverse "EDM" releases I've ever heard. Wide range of different BPMs, dubstep, trap, electro house, classical interludes, the whole array. Savant - Sledgehammer by Aleksander Vinter
The aforementioned song, Sledgehammer, is a favorite from the album. Electric organ intro that sounds real niche, and some great high, twisting synths in a "drop" that sure goes hard in the paint. Also features an unexpected transition into some interesting moombahton type groove. Chances are, you've never heard something like this before. I listened to this album a handful of times over the course of a week or so, trying to get a feel for each song, since there's so many of them. I decided that the best course of action for this post would be to simply choose the two tracks that, to me, stood out the most. For song number two, I had to go with this one, Fat Cat Shuffle. Opens with an intro that sounds like a cross between Bossa Nova and Donkey Kong, quickly turning over to some intricate bass work. I think Savant's production skills really shine here, so many great sounds, together and on their own as well. At the two minute mark, twangy LFO bass galore! Definitely like the feel of this song. Anyway, I think you should listen to the entire album and make your own opinion. It's freely available to stream, but if it appeals to you, I think you should purchase it, since a lot of time has gone into Alchemist, I am sure. Summary of my opinions: Pros: Great diversity, awesome sounds, huge tracklist, some really unique stuff. Cons: The mixing lacked somewhat at times, a few tracks got (slightly) muddy in certain parts, but overall, not really an issue. I know this is late, since the album was released Dec. 12, but I haven't really been able to find the time for this up until now. Expect a lot more from BASSPOLICE this year though, I'll be putting in more time to feature more content, and work on some connections to maybe get some exclusive stuff on here. A great almost 50 minute mix from Zomboy! Some serious stuff in there. Download link, y'all.
Also, you might notice the amazing design changes that I've made to BP, for example the menu bar with "tags" up top, and some top posts to the right. I was gonna make a blogroll, but realized I had nothing to put in there besides Dödselectro.

Muchachos & muchachas, are you ready? You've probably heard this pretty classic Excision & DatsiK tune before. But I must say that this remix makes it into some next level badassery music. First, a trip to groovetown with some moombahton, which is appreciated. Then a change in tempo, we get some drumstep gangster stuff and lastly some dnb madness that might scar the retinas in your ears. Dirtyphonics are great when it comes to keeping it original, I is a fan of those fellas indeed.
Since there's such a gap between this post and the last one, I'ma just do the same and cram a bunch of good stuff in here to keep everyone occupied for a lil' while.
Big mix from Mista Jam's show on BBC 1Xtra; it's a daily dose of dubstep from Borgore! Free download up in it.
A preview of some sexy on-the-floor stuff from one of my favorite duos, gLadiator! It's gonna be released the 30th of April, so stay hyped.
Sugary sweet beets (eeeeh!) from another favourite duo, KOAN Sound, remixing a Kasabian song. Buy link right here baby.
A badass tune from Excision & Downlink. When these guys team up, well, I don't even have to tell you this is some good stuff, right? Buy it on Beatport!
gLAdiator sure knows how to produce some quality stuff. Will anyone be mad if I say this might be better than the original? Well, you might have to get mad then. If they played this kinda stuff on the radio, I might actually listen to the damn radio.
Y'all might remember skank-tank producer duo from the Dangerzone tune. Well, here's another bangtastic song by them fellas, and I must agree that it is very "booty-poppin'", as their soundcloud says. BLIP-BLIP-BLIP-BLIP

Okay I'm going to be a bit sexist and say that I love babes making dubstep. Here are some babes making dubstep. And some dudes too, I guess. Anyone saying women can't be producers of any kind are stupid, gender is irrelevant. So if you're like, a really old gay-hating womens' right-bashing priest from the 16th century, fuck you.
Being a fan of UK grime rappin' + dubstep, I can't do much besides thinking this song is great. I got this preview sent to the BASSPOLICE mail (yes, send me your music), and I could only wish the video was a bit longer. It will be released on Beatport, through Play Me recs on the 10th of October. Featuring none other than Messinian and a Reid Speed remix so uh, I'm hyped.
ALSO! Ze specialé! Preview of Porter Robinson's forthcoming EP Spitfire! Click that link and start pumping them songs. I've got no idea how long it's going to be available so best be quick about it. The EP features great new club tunes, moombah swag and some crazy dubstep too (The State, for example)!
Get pumpin'
