Right of the bat, YES I AGREE THE TALKING GUYS IS ANNOYING! I was getting pumped, ready to go wild, then he's like WADDUP GUYZ U LIEK DIS SONG HURRKADERRP - by god, if you're going to promote, do it at the beginning please. Anywayyyy, this song is CRAZY. People might say there's Skrillex influence in this tune but, nah, maybe because of those reverse vocals but, Tomba > Skrillex any day in my book, and crazy action-packed synth work and drumage really is more of a Tomba sound than anything. (no offence Skrillex!)
Love the synth work, and the smooth high-pitched one that's in the background at times, with the subtle vibrato, OHLORD!?1 Out in July @ buygore.
Tomba you're awesome.

Wadduuup! Drumstep big time, some might recognize where I got this song from, but I ain't even mad. Me <3 that snare workage after the drop, the whole "trrrdun-trrrduuiin!" part, it's awesome. The beat is real heavy too, and the second drop is one of those surprise-drops where things get switcharoo'd!
You can buy this release and others from Kanji Kinetic here. I, for one, will surely be checking out his tunes further!

This is one of those 'older' new-era dubstep tunes. Plant Food has it's own kind of feeling to it, cat samples aside. The whole trance-ish middle section has a really nice melody to it, and the second drop just kills everything. Ah and the woman at the end always cracks me up. A great classic from the Bare Noize team!
Oh kitty! Meow meow, happy midsummer solstice or whatever!

Part 2 is out! Seems like alotta people fancied part 1, so I figured I'd feature pt 2 the instant it dropped! The first one was DnB, and this one's dubstep. It simply oozes of Skrillex inspiration, with the beat and the high pitched hydraulic sounds and what not (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have any clue whatsoever). It's quite good, to be fair though, part 1 was better! But I did like this as well, a banger by all means!
If you're interested, you can buy both part 1 & 2 here as well as a DJ edit of part 1!
/Lekroth seriously pt 1 gets better everytime i listen to it wtf

Is this post late? Yes. Do we give a shit? Well, not really. Our post about the Tetris release date has brought pretty large amount of viewers to our blog actually, so you might've expected us to have been right on the ball with this song. Anyways, here's the post. If you hadn't heard the complete version before, sit back and enjoy, because it's uh, what's the term? Filthy as fuck? Yes that's the one, thanks. Love the work with the crispy Tetris original synth, and how it's woven into the main chorus portion as well, awesome.
You can buy it from Juno download here and it's also available from iTunes but apple can suck it.

I know I already linked this song once as an addition to our first Sunday Wrap-Up, but it just didn't give it enough credit. It's still a tune that dominates my "top 5 dubstep songs of all time list", which it has been doing since the first time I heard it. As an old metal enthusiast I find this awesome as fuck. You can really feel the metal influences in the drop, the screaming synth/vox or whatever it is. Really love the drums, they're amazing, the part after the breakdown with the whole ride action is rank 1 eargasm material.
Tomba always goes hard, anyone who likes this should check out his other stuff! (A tip would be The Goblin and Come out & Play, ballin' tunes).
Also; internet is alive again, blast master flex is back. Expect dope shit errday as usual.

Borgore had a remix contest a long time ago, and the song s'posed to be remixed was "Money". Now I don't know if this won but I know it was in the finals or something like that, but it was certainly worthy of a win. Great remix, bet Borgore is proud!
To the bad news, my internet will be down for a while, I'm currently writing this on a homies computer. There's a really slim chance it will be back by tomorrow but best bet would be monday earliest and thursday as the latest. Let's hope Isidor can put up some great songs in the mean time!

Okay so, we received two opportunities for featuring mixes. One of which was already posted and was great, and this which would be posted so we could feature it. So before anything I'd like to give a shoutout to ProfoundAudio and Eshin, thanks for your submission as well!
This mix that I decided to feature comes from a friend of a friend in Scotland who is a DJ and whatnot, and the mixname is all kinds of crazy! Right of the bat I was like what's going on, but when it kicked in I realized that there were a lot of awesome tracks that I'd never heard before.
Overall thoughts is that it has an abundance of great tunes, it's well produced, edited, mixed and whatever. Really digging this myself and since my mantra goes that I never post anything that I wouldn't put in my mp3, this is definitely going in my mp3.
Keep sending us the promos and exclusives etc, we'll listen to it, promise!

Straight from UKF DnBs channel! I didn't upload this because it was brand new, I uploaded it because it's gooood. Shock One is a great DnB producer, some of you might have heard his tune Polygon or his remix of Netsky's song, I Refuse. Pretty much always keeping it crisp.
This song gave me a Pendulum-ish sensation, with a Watercolor feel to it how it starts, the vocal works etc. But after the drop it gets a whole lot grittier, something that Pendulum seems to hide from these days (srsly rabid Pendulum fans don't burn my house down).
Anyways, lovin' this, available to buy 27th of june. All in all, great job Shock One and Phetsta!

Today, another monster was released from the cage of Downlink!
This beast was dropped, not on Rottun this time, but on MalLabel Music.
Fresh is one of the words, that comes to mind when I listen to this tune. It gives me that "new era" of dubstep feel, with the rock hard wobbles that remind me of Excision.
I couldn't find a way to embed the tune, so you will have to check it out on Beatport.
If you like it, make sure to support Downlink and pick up a copy!
Awesome artwork made by a friend of ours, thanks! Currently using this on twitter 'cuz the blogspot design editor is a major hater.
Just figured I'd write some news / things / whatever the fuck
First off, gotta give a big shoutout and thanks to Samples, Figure, NumberNin6, Bare and others for tweeting our posts! Really gave our site a lot of traffic and we love musicians that have time for the small people as well. To quote Bear Grylls; Help the fire when it's small, and it'll help you when it gets big!
Second, I realized that I completely forgot the Sunday Wrap-Up for last week. But seriously though the posts we posted on sunday instead were dope as fuck so it kinda balances it out.
Lastly, thanks to the new followers on twitter for the support, and the people who have sent us tunes/mixes for featuring! Today/tomorrow (fucking time zones) it's very likely that we'll be posting two of the submissions/requests that sounded real ill!
BASSPOLICE takin' off, get on dat boat, crew!

This is why we love Subhuman! This was just released, and it's a dubstep-horror-trailer (or something along those lines) for Bare and Mark Instincts new EP called Murder Machine. It's coming out the 18th of July. It will have 4 tunes, one of which will be feat. Dieselboy. Pretttty sure it's gonna be hard, can't wait!

I like NumberNin6's style when it comes to making hard tunes, they're like how I imagine real hard hiphop would be if you translated the rapping into dubstep. Kinda. Anyways was checking out his soundcloud today and found two gems that needed sharing!
A tune from his latest release on Subhuman. Really like the whole intro feeling, it's very smooth but it still possesses that little scary/horror touch. When it drops, it does so with good measure. You can hear the basswork if you listen in closely, and the entire song just has this feeling of despair (this is just my opinion though, if NumberNin6 meant this to be like a birthday song for his son or something, I'm sorry). Both songs from the release are available for buying >here<
Listen to this, isn't that hard like diamonds and titanium? Heard this in some mix, might've been the Dieselboy Unleashed! one we featured a while ago. You can hear and appreciate both the NumberNin6 and the Bare specific sound sound and style. Messinian's a rapper afaik so my best bet is that he supplied the bad ass vocal samples.
Really dig the producers who have the capability to switch up and change the sound of drops and keep it feeling fresh all the way through, instead of just re-using the same drop two or three times. Kisses /Lekroth

It just felt like a good time for some regular 'ol wild 'n crazy dubstep. Nothing fancy to write today, too tired! Chrispy - Predator (Cyberoptix Remix), good song, well produced. Seems to be like a year old but I haven't heard it before so it's new to me!

As you might've noticed by now, I'm a glitch hop fan, so sue me. For some reason it seems like a kinda obscure genre that mostly Canadians seem to be proficient at, but frankly I haven't found any other electronic genre that comes with this much swag.
Two of my favourites, I've already featured, namely Squincy Jones and Subvert. Today I figured it was time to feature the #1 on my top 3 list of fave glitch hoppers, Ben Samples!
This is a new tune from June 7th that I discovered on a trip to GHF today. I mean, come on, right off the bat, that guitar sound? Oh lawd. Now I don't know if it's a synth or live guitar, but either way it's CRISP. After that you've got the whole groove section with the funky bass, then awesome Brian Johnson vocals. 80's rock, fuck yes.
An older tune, that I heard for the first time back in January or so, on the F2D Cali Grassroots mix. Fresh2Death is a DJ duo featuring Fisk and Samples btw, if you cared. Anyway, this song has the same awesomely crisp guitar sounds, but it feels a bit more action packed. Love how you can hear the bassline work at around the 2.15 mark. This whole old school rock mixing really is dope.
THIS ONE! Seriously this song is so bad ass. This proves the statement I made at the top by 110%. You won't find this swag anywhere else. I heard this song the first time on Subverts Shambhala 2010 mix if I'm not mistaken. At that time I did not know about glitch hop or Samples, and the name of this song wasn't present in the track list. It just so happened that I found the link to GHF while looking for the Tin Can Telephone cantina RMX, and the rest is history my friends.
Enjoy this post for a while 'cuz I'll likely not have time to post more than once tomorrow! Put your faith in Isidor. ;D

This one gets me everytime. I'm always like yeah, listening to the beginning, then I go "hey this is just like the original", then it just happens, the swagga does a 180 and it's just like, wat. Basically it's a mashup of remixes featured on Excisions Shambhala 2010 mix, and the song/clips/whatever is ripped from there. The original Swagga is an iconic dubstep song and everyone knows it, but this remix just makes it evolve to Charizard if you catch my drift.
We usually refer to this tune as Reverse Swagga 'cuz that's what it feels like.
Love it!

Felt a little inspired by my friends post, so I decided to follow in the tracks of Noisia!
These Dutch mad-men, dropped another EP a couple of days ago, called "Vision Recordings 011".
First up on the EP, is a collab with Phace, called "Program". This beast starts of with a break / neurofunk kind of feel, jam-packed with tons of interesting FX and sounds that never leaves you bored. And then.. DROOOOP!
Nr.2 goes for a bit more classic DnB feel, but with that little Noisia twist, that always leaves you wanting more! Lovin the "wild west" style guitar that comes in a couple of times. This tune goes by the name "Regurgitate". Enjoy!
Holy fucking shit. This guy is crazy! I was surfin' deathelectro and saw this guy mentioned for drumstep etc so I checked his stuff. All I can say is whaaaaaaaaaaat!? His damn songs are so fresh, I'm stunned. Every once in a while you stumble over something that just sounds completely new, this is one of those fucking times.I can't really define the genre beyond awesome as hell, you'll have to figure(;DD) it out for yourself. Picked this song over the others because, well, fuck the police. But seriously though check out his soundcloud and crank the volume to 12!
thinking of getting a postername like Isidor has, not sure what to go with tho! maybe Count T? we'll see

Noisia's pretty damn beastly. They've got so many great songs, it's amazing how they manage to come up with that much good material. The drum work is always original and it feels very alive and multi-dimensional. We love them here at BASSPOLICE and they're certainly my personal fave when it comes to DnB.
They've got a fair share of tunes together with the lads in Foreign Beggars, most notable is perhaps Shellshock, which is awesome. Contact is also a tune they made together for the Foreign Beggars album "United Colors of Beggatron" and this is Noisia's remixed version of it, focusing a bit less on the vocals and making it into just pure DnB dopeness. It's got a slower, more funky intro featuring the signature Noisia synth work and later unleashing into DnB mayhem (love the hollow snare!).
Everyone who loves Deadmau5's, raise your hand! Ok so everyone raised their hands, great.
When Deadmau5 released his 4x4=12 album, I didn't listen to much else than the continuous mix for about a week or so. It's simply an awesome prog house album.
I must admit I haven't really been searching hard for any remixes of Deadmau5 songs, but I stumbled over this today and it instantly struck me as a tune worthy of a feature. Can't say I've heard anything by Madeon before, but I'm likely to be checking out his stuff after hearing this banger!

I'm sure a lot of you people have heard of Nero already, but this stuff is a bit different.
Found this goodie, waiting for me, on Nero's Facebook page the other day.
One of their older tunes that they decided to release for free, for the pleasure of us fans! This stuff is NASTY!
Starts out with an "outer space" feel and then smacks you in the face with some really interesting wobbles, bouncing around, all over the lower frequensies.
Have a listen and, once again, be amazed by the wickedness that is Nero.
If you are interested in some more Nero stuff, just head over to their Facebook page! They posted some really cool stuff that they did, together with an orchestra!
Peace out!

For a long time, there was just this like 1 min 15 seconds clip of this song on the tubes. Didn't stop me from getting it to my mp3 and listening to it like, lots of times. Hadn't heard the full release until today (sometimes I'm just not up to date). The second drop is a killer, wasn't expecting that at all! NumberNin6 sure did good this time around, looking forward to coming releases from Subhuman, quite a fan of their real hard stuff!

Yeah yeah, I'm trying not to be an extension of UKF, but truth is that I try to get the version with the best quality, which often happens to be UKF! I was thinking that the Chase & Status - Blind Faith original was good, and I was going to post it. But just before I did, I remembered that the Trolley Snatcha remix was even better. Gotta love the melodic vocals and then the transition into that signature drop-it-like-hiroshima(no offense) type dubstep !

Massive! This is kinda old as fuck, but last year Glitch Hop Forum (a site which I frequent, good stuff!) had a contest together with Shambhala, the huge ass music festival, you guys might be familiar with Excision's annual Shambhala mixes for example. The contest was about making a Star Wars glitchremix for some reason and yadda yadda I don't know all the details.
Anyhooo, great songs! My three favourites would be Tin Can Telephone, Jay Wikid and Vinja's entries, but man they're all juicy! Take some time and listen to all of those bad boys.

Doctor P - Sweet Shop, everyone's heard it. It's one of the iconic songs for the progressive dubstep era, and for good reasons. Camo & Krooked decided to make a drum & bass remix of it, and for that I'll forever be in debt to them. I actually can't decide if I like this or the original the most. This remix is just, that, good.
So, the other half of the BASSPOLICE department was actually going to write this post, since I don't really know much about electro. But he went AWOL, and we promised an electro thursday.
Here's the song he had in mind, Dskotek - Mega Man, all I can really tell you about s that it's pretty much brand new and very groovy! I quite like this one actually, it's got a neat Porter Robinson feel to it!
The second song will be the electro song I chose. Now I know it's actually like, 8bit, but fuck that, the original is electro and that one is awesome too. It's Justice- Phantom Pt. II (WNB ELECTROFAEC COVER) and I'm sorry that I can't actually imbed it in the page, you'll have to click the link!

So yeah, everyone knows what dubstep is ye? Well, a genre that is a close relative to both dubstep and d&b is drumstep, and it's just as ill for various reasons. Featuring the kind of heavy dubstep beat you normally hear, but speeding things up a bit to close the gap between it and d&b, it really creates a different kind of swagger!
Today I wanted to point out the differences, by showing you two songs, a dubstep classic, and then its drumstep remix counterpart to make it proper obvious. Into the fray we go!
DatsiK - Firepower. Oh, this song. This, song. The amount of times it's been on repeat, where I've heard it in mixes and when someone has dropped it live added up, would probably mean I've listened to it A LOT OF DAMN TIMES. Arguably one of DatsiK's biggest tunes, so catchy and heavy, perfect vocal samples and all, it really shows how great dubstep can be sometimes.
And, if you'd happen to tire of it..
You've got this to cover for ya. Levelas remix of Firepower is stunning! DatsiK dropped this at a gig I attended. Me myself, friends and probably the rest of the audience, all had our jaws drop about 5 feet. The sheer awesomeness of this song on a good audio rig is undescribable. All in all, Levela took Firepower, performed the exact changes needed to make it a drumstep banger, and he did it very well.
This should properly show you the meaning of the genre drumstep! If you have enough money to buy just one of these tunes, best be a beggar for an afternoon and buy both anyway. (They're available on beatport.com real cheap, actually)
Later there'll be another drumstep tune by a bunch of guys who you're very likely to already adore if you've stayed updated! Cyaaa~
