I'm never shy when it comes to posting great Figure tunes. And you know, there aren't really that many Figure tunes that aren't great. I caught myself expelling a loud "haaa" when I heard the melody. 'Tis the season to be pumping the bass, as dubstep santa would say.
As Figure seems to be a generous fella, this song is a free download as well, so get yo' christmas/new year/crunk on with this tune while shootin' some fireworks.
This thing doesn't really look good on this page but I don't have time to play the master of HTML all day so you'll just have to deal with it people.

I know this one came out like half a month ago. But at first I was like naah, and then I was like hmm... I realized it had the same charm as say, Black Sun Empire - Hyper sun. Instead of that sound though, it's from a triple combo of robot-noise heroes. Ajapai, Excision and Downlink in one song!? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ I bet a lot of people are going, "what would happen if DatsiK was in the song as well omg!??". And to be fair, I wonder the same thing.
By now, most people have heard about the sweetness that is Knife Party. This entire EP is fresh as hell, and it's also free.Just head over to this link and download it. It's a great mix of different genres with unique flavors, and possibly influences from other artists in some songs (possibly).
Take a listen for yourself and see if you diggin' it.

Have you heard the mix Figure did for Mad Decent & halloween in general? Well, if you heard it, did you notice this hilariously awesome song at the beginning of the mix? If you didn't, well, here it is.
So many really cool and different synths, and it still isn't messy or anything. Love the screaming sample, it's great. No idea why this shit ain't famous but I guess technically it should be?
I heard Kill the Noise the first time when Feed Me put out his Big Adventure. But Kill the Noise has been around a lot longer, and the blasts from the past-tunes are a testament to his skill. Kill the Noise is definitely living up to his name. This new EP of his is some of the craziest stuff I've heard in a long time, some sincerely incredible songs. Insane dubstep and electro and even a drum & bass remix from KOAN mfkin' Sound (and it is completely mental as well).
So many synonyms for psychological instabilities in that paragraph, it is what youtube comments do to your mind. According to Kill the Noise, a year without releasing any music was spent to make this EP, salutations for that. All to often EP's get churned out and contains 4-5 decent songs, but this one has 10 top quality tunes.
I'm not sure what I can say about this song beside holy shit my eyes are melting.
Well, I guess technically it should be ears that melt when listening to music but I couldn't care less. /Lekroth No copyright infringement intended. All cred goes to the respective authors and labels, as they should!
Yeaaaup, it's that time again. Another one (2) of these bitchin' CDs jampacked with tunes that you want to make sweet love with. The DnB version features tunes like Shellshock, Crucify Me Pt. 1 and Someone (know you dig dat song Big C).
I mean, it's like £5 or something. That's not even an hours work for more than an hour of music. Or something like that, guess it depends if you farm oranges for 50 pence a day. No offense to any orange pickers. I don't eat oranges myself, but lots of people do and I bet they all send their regards.
You know that dubstep mega mix got some Noisia, 16bit, Roksonix and Trolley Snatcha up in it. And that's just like, 4 out of the lots that you'll be finding on that CD.

Okay so I realize this is a rip from a commercial, and that it's only one minute long. But they play the new damn HTC commercial once every ten minutes at the gym, and I've been like "shiiie dat song be pretty sweet for a commercial".
Took the time today to find it, and I was pretty surprised to find out that it was from none other than SebastiAn. Sounds very Justice-ish, but I find this song very cool and funky.
Hoping to see a version that isn't one minute long and horrible quality sometime soon. Anyone wondering why there's two dudes kissing as a picture on that video, it's because that's the album cover for SebastiAn's latest album. Haters gonna hate I guess.

Awwyeah, tracks from Doctor P or Flux Pavilion is not exactly something you say no to. Really cool style, got some oldie feeling to it (thinking Black Dynamite here). Classic Doctor P and Flux Pavilion sounds though, great synths and production quality that you only encounter when you're listening to some pro shit.
Nice regular paced beat with big snares, I'm not going to complain. Looking forward to the full version out on december 12th, hope you're doing the same.

Noisia u always up in dem posts. Well, listen to Noisia and realize why. The top comment on that video says it all. Beware of direct copy paste of youtube comment;
"1:00 - Me at one minute = :D 1:20 - Me at one minute and 20 seconds = :OOOOOOOOOOOO"
Youtube comments man, they just grow up that way. To the point, this song surprised the hell out of me after 1.00.
Noisia keeps delivering sick beat switches and never ending synth variation. Take a listen to Red Heat and you'll get the picture! Could This Be is available for purchase the 21th november on mau5trap, so, you know, set a reminder.

Okay so, there's been a lack of posts recently. Take a guess as to why. If you guessed Skyrim, then you were correct. If you guessed booze, then you were also correct.
If you are in the mood for an awesome mix, with shitloads of bass and a free download, I suggest you take a listen to this. Great mashups, a really phat tracklist. Ace of the Pack is still a fucking huge tune.

I was going to go to sleep, but then I found this. Holy shit! KOAN Sound never fails to surprise the fuck out of me. This is like, three different remixes of the same song, and none of them sound the same. KOAN Sound is one of my absolute favorite supplier of beats. Love, love, the hiphop influenced stuff. Up until 1.10 or so, it's like, dope. Then after that, jaw drop. Not sure what to say besides that, this song is incredible.

The name is kinda off-putting at start. But I guess if you think about it, consensual means that both parts agree. Though this confuses me since when is rape ever consensual?
Anyway. New cool release on Heavy Artillery from Kannamix. Some pretty fancy melodies in some parts of those songs I'd say, interesting shit. The "lead" song, being Consensual Rape, features a bunch of those fancy melodies. Uppercut - Geoff Bukk rmx is a phat ass track, too.
You guys enjoyed Figure's album I'm pretty sure. Now it's time to enjoy this crazy ass mix from the same mad bass-doctor. Posted on Mad Decent for halloween, and damn, is it mad decent alright. You know, to put it lightly.

Noisia never fail to surprise me. They've always got some new twist or tweak to their sound that just makes a song totally unique. The description on their soundcloud page that reads "Noisia make music for DJs and dance-floors that is interesting enough to cross over from the clubs to your MP3 player... " couldn't be more spot-on.
A slow, more dreadful sounding dubstep aura with this tune. After a long intro with funky vibes as lovley ride-bells in the background, comes some twisted sounding synths. Awesome stuff.
Love you Noisia.

BRAP! Long time since we had any glitch hop up in this! That's why I'm seriously hyped to post this extremely robust mix. Another one of the things I got in the BP mail for some promotionalizing. (Send your shizzle to basspolicepromo@gmail.com wink wink)
Simply put, it's pretty damn sweet. The track list is bomb and The Glitch Mob show off some serious mixing skills, assuring everyone that they are rightfully entitled to the legend status. As a special mention I just wanna say, edIT - Gansta Shit, daaaymn son. Oh and the song after, Ooah - Crunk Down Where Ya At, beast. Actually, all the amazing songs I'd like to give special mentions would probably end up with me pretty much just mentioning all the songs.
You know, it's not every day that I log into the BP mail and find a promo email featuring Figure's new album, ill.Gate's new album and a 27-track mix from The Glitch Mob. And when I say it's not every day, I mean it's never happened before. Huge thanks to Dayshabass for this! Figure & Gangsta Fun - The Mummy (VIP Edit) by Figure
I've been a fan of Figure since 15 seconds into the first song I heard by him. This album features some awesome songs, and you better believe they all pack a punch. VIP edits, remixes and completely new tunes, if you wanted more from an album it would have to pay for dinner.
So far I've had enough time to take the album for one complete digital spin, and so far my favorite is The Mummy VIP Edit. The melody has that smooth LA g-funk swing to it, crazy beat too. Another favorite is the Killabits rmx of The Werewolf, fucking ace track. This is the one album to make you stop in your tracks, look over your shoulder and make sure you don't have a pack of monsters ready to disembowel you.
You can get it from Figure's own website (and a free dl, This Is Halloween) And you can also get it from Beatport, Amazon, Juno & iTunes (Ew, iTunes) Trust me, it's worth every penny. Also stay tuned for his upcoming Halloween mix for Mad Decent!
Will take the other promo stuff for a ride now, expect more tomorrowwww /Lekroth No copyright infringement intended. All cred goes to the respective authors and labels, as they should!
HI FANS After a lot of fucking hassle, Virgin finally decided it was time to give me internet. I've missed so many tunes, but also had the time and opportunity to drink many many beers and meet lots of Northern Irish people!
First offfff, a tune featuring one of my absolute faves, Feed Me! Hadouken & him sincerely tear drumstep a new one here. Huge atmospheric synths, fucking beast mechanical synths, lovely vocals. It's got it all. Couldn't think of a better way to start my first BP post in ages. Feed Me can have my children if he wants to.
Secondly we've got another one of my faves, probably one of your faves as well. You've all read the BP interview with Samples already (I hope you have ;@). Here comes his Shambhala 2011 mix, packed with so many great songs, unreleased ones and classics alike. Samples truly shows he's awesome by doing a 1 hour long mix with songs that are either his, or remixed by him. Like a chieftain. Get that free download and get jiggy with it.
Last up, we've got this HARD ass song, lawd have mercy. Document One goes completely mental up in this. It feels good to come back from a life devoid of internet connection and have something like this waiting for you. I can't find any info regarding it, but the vocals sound like Foreign Beggars to me. Though I think it would've probably have gotten written somewhere, since the cover says feat. Maksim, it might be him? Got no idea to be honest. Love the reverb on those drums, whaddup sound engineering. Gonna be available to buy on Buygore fairly soon, so stay ready.

I'm pumped about ill.Gates sending me this album preview and letting me join the ill.Uminati!
I've been a fan of ill.Gates since I first found Glitch Hop Forum (.com) and randomly downloaded ill.Gates & VibeSquad - The Fire Man (which was also one of the first songs to be featured on BP, histoy lesson up in dis). This album is sounding like it's going to be pretty sweeeet, with collabs featuring Samples and DatsiK amongst many others! Remixes galore as well, I'm betting this will be sick.
Still stuck with horrible internet wi-fi, fml

Okay, just to get it out of the way, this track isn't officially released yet, so the song might get taken down and such. But seriously I don't care about that crap, I'ma post this 'cus it's great!
SebastiAn makes what you'd probably call "music art", and it's awesome music art at that. The upbeat happy-go-lucky mood of this song goes very well with Skrillex usual style, but it's still a unique new sound from him, I'd say. You still hear the Skrillex-sound though, obviously, you can hear the Skrillex-sound in most things these days
Eitherway, awesome song, think it'll be out by wednesday or so, but I'm not 100% on that so don't take my word for ittttt
Can't promise anything about the posts this coming week, moving to North Ireland on sunday 'n shizzle might get hectic.

Long time since we had a nice big mix up in here! Got this one sent to our mail by DJ Rozz himself. Took a listen to it and was happily surprised! Okay, it says Knife Party on that youtube video, yeah. But I had to choose a song for the post, so I picked my favorite from Porter Robinsons' EP. Don't get me wrong though, the EP is awesome. If you got a chance to listen to the Grooveshark preview earlier this week, you know it is awesome. Porter Robinson throws down some of his signature electro house, or "complextro" and adds in some dubstep as well. There's also a whole array of great remixes from Knife Party (obviously), Kill The Noise, SkisM and more.
BADABING BADABAAAM! Excision album mmh yeee. Every year at this time it's like, "gimme Excision's Shambhala mix now please". Well people, I guess this year we got an album. At first I took a listen to Sleepless and X-Rated. Those two songs weren't really what I expected from Excision. But I took a second swing at the entire album and I've got the say it's pro's greatly outweigh some, in retrospect, minor cons.
Ohhh Nooo is great, Excision really shows he can whip up some mean electro bangers if he has too. The collab with SkisM is awesome, and SkisM's personal sound really shines through. Some of the tunes you might've heard before, from an Excision mix or something like that, so now you can get the full versions, yay!
I'm not going to lie and say I love Oasis, but I can't say I dislike Oasis either. I've never listened to Oasis, so there's that. Well except for Wonderwall then, 'cus who hasn't heard Wonderwall? And I've got to admit it's one of those tracks, right? What I, and probably you as well, know already, is that everything that Figure fiddles with usually turns out pretty damn sassy. Throw some stutter vocals on those Gallagher fellows, add a slice of Figure signature drumstep beats and fill all the other gaps with bass. What do you get? Sweet, sweet harmony.
Okay I'm going to be a bit sexist and say that I love babes making dubstep. Here are some babes making dubstep. And some dudes too, I guess. Anyone saying women can't be producers of any kind are stupid, gender is irrelevant. So if you're like, a really old gay-hating womens' right-bashing priest from the 16th century, fuck you.
Being a fan of UK grime rappin' + dubstep, I can't do much besides thinking this song is great. I got this preview sent to the BASSPOLICE mail (yes, send me your music), and I could only wish the video was a bit longer. It will be released on Beatport, through Play Me recs on the 10th of October. Featuring none other than Messinian and a Reid Speed remix so uh, I'm hyped.
I love releases from Buygore. I was cruising my soundcloud today and found this ill puppy. Mojo is a new card for me, but he seems to have been around for a while, and getting featured on Buygore is a big deal! I saw in the comments that some argument going on about the sound. I will admit some synths are similar to Watch Out, but the song was totally different. Both great tunes, listen hard for some cool harmonies in there.
I couldn't find any info when they'd be out or where you could perhaps pre-ordered. But click the Buygore link up there and keep yourself posted.
That big soundcloud player totally ruins the post aesthetics.

I'm a huge Porter Robinson fan. What really got me listening to electro tech house etc in general was Say My Name (That and, you know, Feed Me). He's made this tune The State, which is currently unreleased. Or is it? Well, his version is at least. But SkisM's remix of it is released and it's el massivo de la muerte, or some shit like that.
I like how it's like a big blend of styles. Porter Robinsons' electro sound, and his sound when he haves a go at dubstep versus SkisM's own type of illin'. It's a cool song, with synths you might recognize and synths you might go "ah, that's new", about.
Anyway, it's forthcoming the 13th september on OWSLA, which is some cool record label I guess.

Been waiting for this EP to come out for a long time. Since Excision released X-Sessions I think. If you haven't heard the song Energize or any of the other previews before you should totally listen to them by clicking here(well except for Energize itself 'cus it's like, right up there).
The sound is just way different, I can't recall anything that sounds like this, it's all crazy but it's still organized. Safe to say, unique dubstep to the very least.
Glrglrbrlhr. New Feed Me song. Hnnghhh. A special from Deadmau5's Meowington Hax Tour I think (I also think Meowington is Deadmau5's cat). I get the minimalistic feeling from this tune, not an abundance of synths, not all over the place with FX and so on, just straight forward good tune. I'm always a fan of Feed Me's skills when it comes to melodies and playing the piano like a chieftain, and Cott's Face doesn't disappoint!
Should I feel ashamed I got this straight off Dödselectro? Probably yes, but I love Archer and this song was awesome. Funky ass moombah and skanky electro lazer synths all over.

RSK is a veteran artist. He makes tunes with great diversity, ranging from dubstep too moombhatoon. One of my favorite tunes in dubstep is RSK & Doctor P - Black Books. This release comes from Heavy Artillery records. I couldn't find anywhere to buy it but it should be available for buying somewhere so, go find it!

I follow @16bit on twitter, and I always see random ramblings and various fun stuff being tweeted or retweeted. All in all, it seems pretty much like the Dinosaurs video reflects the minds of the two fellas in 16bit. Albeit I do not know whether they both run their twitter or what's going on, but it sure can be fun to read at times.
Time for more pressing matters, music! I love the sound in this. Frankly 16bit creates tunes that's just something else. For example, ever heard the Noisia - Machine Gun 16bit rmx? Or FRZR9000? They're awesome. So is Dinosaurs. It's heavyyyy, great snare. Loving the audible cymbal-work, not often that someone puts that in the range where you can actually appreciate it! Oh and, the video, well... Let's just say it's tripping balls.
I'm sorry for being so Slow with this. Seriously fucking lightning killed my internet the day before I recieved the Terravita interview answers. Yeah... screw you nature, what's your problem?
On to business. Terravita released the 'Dirty Rottun Scoundrels' EP about 2 weeks ago on Rottun Recordings. Having Terravita as one of my favorite groups, I had to ask them about an interview. I listened to the previews upon their released and I loved it. No more space for ramblin'. Go grab a copy of the EP from beatport, have a listen to the previews while you read the interview and wait for the download.
B - You're more of a group, which is quite unusual in this scene since acts mostly consist of a single producer/DJ. What's your backgrounds? How'd you connect and decide to make music?
T - We all have individual musical backgrounds. Chris grew up listening to rock and metal, Jon grew up listening to hip hop and Matt grew up listening to video games. 10 years ago, Chris and Matt were both DJs in their local EDM scene in New England and Jon was also around the area MCing. Matt and Chris started writing some tracks together in Matt 's bedroom. In 2004, after making more tracks and doing some name changes, they joined forces with Jon to turn into the voltron that is now Terravita/ Hot Pink Delorean. Being in a group isn't that unusual....ie Pendulum, Noisia, Chase & Status, Nero, Evol Intent...there's a lot of groups.
B - You've also got the sweet-ass group 'Hot Pink Delorean', or 'HPD', which features many influences, prominently some pretty swingin' electro. did you start this up at before, at the same time, or after?
T - Hot Pink Delorean came much later. About 3 years after Terravita. It was conceived by us being backed up on our Terravita releases just waiting for them to come out. We had a lot of friends that were into the "Blog House" movement which was huge at the time So we figured why not try our hand at it.
B - Let each person in the group pitch in 2 words to create a sentence!
T - On the unicorn planet, the bass tomatoes go ball fishing. Can you guess which words we pitched in?
B - Terravita has many unique songs, but you still manage to tie everything together in a fashion that makes you recognize the individual Terravita sound. What's the staple inspirational process for creating a new banger?
T - The song writing and the sound design process usually happens separately. Sometimes we'll write our ideas down and then make the sounds fancy later. Other times we just make loud noises and drop them into tunes we're working on. The song writing is random inspiration from one moment to the next. Sometimes a good idea will come to mind and one of us will hum it into a voice memo on their mobile to use later.
B - What kind of gear/DAWs do you use in the studio, versus live? Does each of you have an individual preference?
T - Cubase 6 on a really fast laptop with a RME Babyface external audio interface. For plug-ins, we use Native Instruments for synths (Massive, FM8, Absynth) For mixing and mastering plugins , we use almost exclusively Izotope products. Matt has done preset design and content for the factory sound banks of several Izotope products including Ozone 4, Alloy and BT's Stutter edit.
B - The 'Are You Ready For Me' you're releasing sounded like a real hype-tune on the preview. Is having rapper vocals something you've wanted to do for long in a Terravita song, or have you perhaps used them before?
T - We've used them before but not to such a capacity. Jon is a rapper/ MC so expect more tunes with lyrics on it.
B - We've had some really great dubstep artists play here in Sweden, Flux, Doctor P, DatsiK, Skrillex etc. We really need you as well! Got plans for a Europe tour any time soon?
T - Unfortunately, due to our Hot Pink Delorean lp release tour on top of our Terravita tour commitments stateside and in Australia, we won't be touring europe until February 2012. We love Sweden, so we will make sure you are the first to know when we are booking. Your party sounds awesome!
B - What artists would you like to collab with, and why?
T - Herman Lee from Dragonforce because one of those power metal solos would destroy over a drumstep tune. Juston Timberlake because it ain't gay if it's a 3 way. Outkast, because Jon has hair envy of Andre 3000 and Big Boi knows how to party.
B - To what lengths will you go to stay in shape with the scene? Electronic music is developing quicker than an antelope can run, will you be lions?
T - We're more like crocodiles in the electronic scene: We've been around forever, but we get to eat lions and antelope sometimes.
B - We've come to the must-have interview question for BASSPOLICE. If you could bring 3 lizards with you into space, what would you name them? (You may choose 1 each, do all 3 separately or fight about it, really it's all yours!)
T - First we'd put them in small sweaters and teach them to sing. We'd feed them helium and then we'd name them: Alvin, Simon and Theodore.
B - Lastly, throw any shoutouts to your massives' here!
T -HI MOM!
Thanks a lot for your time!
Any time next week my internet will be back, right now I'm on a friend's computer so.
Expect posts next week (hopefully, I can't fully trust technicians).

Okay since good games are about the best thing ever, and dubstep is also like, really dope shizzle, this seemed like something worthy to use as a quick little extra-post. Next Assassin's Creed looks very good indeed. The dubstep kinda sounds like a fusion between Excision and Bar9 or something!

You know, the first time I heard about Knife Party, I thought it was that other band The Knife. And, if you clicked that link, you probably understand why I never investigated further. But! Then I figured out that the persons behind Knife Party was Rob Swire & GarethMcGrillen, both from Pendulum, and I was like, no fucking way those guys are in The Knife 'cus that would be retarded. I looked into Knife Party, and, they're good. After yesterday, mentioning Crush On You and all, I thought for myself "This songs need a drumstep/dnb remix". I searched for it, found this Knife Party remix, and planets aligned.
I must admit, the Nero version isn't top notch, the intro is great but hell, the intro is almost the same in the remix. Knife Party just took the potential of the song, and made it hard as balls. It shows that Rob Swire still knows how to make 'em filthy tunes even though how Pendulum sounds these days, well, you know...
Really, check out Knife Party, I assume they're gonna be big.
